Electromobility

The main focus of the machine elements department is the design of technical systems for the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. This is currently the research project RuBakaL and previously already research projects ALaPuN, ALanE and sms&charge.

In the context of research activities, the department is actively involved in the National Platform for Electromobility (NPE - sub-working group "ICT", core team 3 System Open Access) and in the accompanying research ICT for Electromobility 2 (expert group Application Scenarios and Innovation Environment as well as expert group Standardization and Interoperability). Furthermore, the Department of Machine Elements is closely integrated into the NRW Competence Center Electromobility Infrastructure and Networks and cooperates with various chairs of electrical engineering and information technology.
